Ostara (or Eostre or Eostara, a word now commemorated in the word Easter) marks the vernal equinox, the beginning of spring. Finally, after a long winter, day and night balance out, with the Sun finally taking the lead over the Darkness. This is a time of celebration—the Goddess stirs in the earth, and we await her wakefulness and return of life to the earth at Beltane.
