Beltane (or Roodmas or Cethsamhain or Whitsuntide) was considered to be the beginning of summer, and is a fertility festival celebrated with bonfires and dancing around the Maypole (which was once a bit more suggestively symbolic). Beltane is a time to celebrate our bodies, and the fertility of the earth. The Goddess is alive and magic is afoot!
